Social Sailing Rallies with Sunsail
Sunsail has joined forces with Mariner Boating Holidays to bring you an exciting program of social sailing regattas in some of the world's most exotic destinations including:
Caribbean
The Caribbean Canter
19 April - 4 May 2009
This rally will sail from Guadeloupe to St Martin via Antigua, Nevis, St. Kitts, St Eustacia and St Barts. We'll join the party scene at Antigua Race Week and follow the first race around to Dickenson's Bay before we set off for St Kitts.
Thailand & Malaysia
Phuket to Langkawi Yacht Rally
10 January - 24 January 2010
The islands in the Andaman Sea between Thailand and Malaysia offer a pure tropical experience. Featuring warm crystal clear water, first class diving and snorkelling, palm shaded white-sand beaches, spectacular limestone formations rising from the sea and ancient rain forests - all flavoured with famous Thai/Malay cuisine and hospitality.
What is a sailing rally?
These escorted rallies offer a mix of cruising, racing and sight-seeing in the company of like-minded sailors where the social agenda may well become the highlight of your holiday.
Now you can add the excitement of a little spirited competition to your cruising holiday, while still having lots of time to experience local cultures, savour new cuisines, explore ancient archaeological sites, wander through medieval cities or just relax in a secluded anchorage.
The only sailing regattas in the world with more lay days than races!
The racing is not too serious! If the wind does not blow at a designated start time, we simply cruise toward our destination until it does. Even then we often start after a lunch and a swim stop!
Each of the short passage races is followed by a prize giving celebration with delicious catering and the best in local hospitality.
